Finally!
It’s finally happened!
Sweet release for my fellow Golem brothers and sisters. Plan B games have announced the Golem Edition of the second, and third games in their Century series.

This is great news for those in the know, but those who aren’t. Here’s a brief history:
Century: Spice Road was released, and everyone loved it.
To celebrate, Century: Golem Edition was meant to be a promotional limited print run retheme. Only to be sold at conventions.
But the people (and me) liked the idea and artwork of Golem Edition and we wanted a copy.
So they made more for everyone.
Then they made Century: Eastern Wonders, with the intention of only combining with Century: Spice Road.
But the people (and me) liked the idea and artwork of Golem Edition and we wanted a copy.
They said no. Not going to happen.
Sad golem noises

Bringing us to present day, and why I’m pretty excited about this announcement.
It’s heartening to see a publisher responding so forthright to their customers. And I look forward to ordering my copy. As of now though, they’re only selling it from their website.

Another publisher doing good work is Days of Wonder, who’ve announced their 2019 big box title: Deep Blue. The back of the box says it’s a press-your-luck and engine-building, family game. Which means I’m definitely going to have to check it out, as it looks like a cross between Quacks of Quedlinburg, and Deep Sea Adventure.
Over on Kickstarter, Portal Games have come in like a wrecking ball. With a re-release of Ignacy Trzewiczek’s Pret-a-Porter this time with artwork by Ian O’Toole my other favourite artist Kwanchai Moriya. The vibrant colours will make sure that this game stands out on the shelf and on the table. However the heaviness of the game is something to make you think twice.
The last game I want to give a mention to this week is The Island of Cats. While I’m not a big fan of polynomial games, or cats. It does look pretty interesting in a way you wouldn’t think from the title. Definitely worth you clicking this link and finding out more:
In personal news this week, the countdown until Fire Emblem: Three Houses has officially begun. Really looking forward to playing it. Although 80 hours is going to be hard to find.
Cheers,
Dave
